Our pledge to reduce carbon emissions to net zero

We are planning to pledge to science based targets initiatives (sbti) to reduce our carbon emissions to net zero by 2050.

In order to achieve this goal we have implemented several procedures already.

We are using Jet Vac Recyclers which suck up the sewage and produce grey water that can be used on our jetting projects.  This jetting procedure helps to clean and manage the sewer network to unblock areas and to detect issues before they cause serious damage. Using a Jet Vac Recycler can save up to 168,000 litres of clean water per one 8-hour shift, preserving clean water needed to maintain everyday life.

Sapphire Utility Solutions has also pledged to hybridize our fleet of company cars and City Flexers by 2030. Currently we are rolling out charging stations at all our sites across the UK to encourage the use of hybrid electric vehicles and we have an end-of-life procedure to phase out all diesel and petrol vehicles as the new hybrid electric vehicles are brought in.

In addition, we are using green energy suppliers for all our construction sites. These are ethically and environmentally friendly companies that supply our equipment and resources.

Finally, we are bringing in solar panelled equipment into our company vehicles that will deter the production of battery waste and therefore reduce our GHGs.

Reaching our goal to reduce our carbon emissions to net zero by 2050 is something we are passionate about. As a business we understand the importance of sustainability and we have a responsibility to look after our planet as well as our local community.
