Sapphire staff stabilise a collapsed garden

Our team in Sandbach saved a customers collapsed garden!

Based on Ravenscroft Close, a customer’s garden collapsed into a void which was created by a collapse on a 750mm surface water line which ran across the boundary of the customers property. Our team of three men worked for four weeks on this project to stabilise the ground by driving sheet piles to prevent further ground loss.

Access was given through the back of the property via a building site, where our team had to construct a haul road to ship in materials and plant. This particular location meant challenges were faced initially due to land ownership and the specialised designs which were involved. Both United Utilities and A&A were able to arrange land access and issue legal notices to work on the assets.

Outstanding work from the Sapphire wastewater team who carried out a complex surface water sewer repair within minimum timescales. All work was completed to a high standard and in line with designs restrictions whilst working in conjunction with an existing building site and property owners. All parties were kept up to date with progress which produced commendations from the client & residents which was well received by the team who adopted a great work ethic to complete the works with minimal disruption.
