Sapphire Utility Solutions are a leading wastewater service provider and recently invested over £1m in the creation of a new Wastewater Resolution vehicle fleet to reduce environmental impact and increase efficiency through improved equipment and specification.

The new van-based unit provides a lower cost alternative to the deployment of larger HGV units and include industry first built in digital customer information screens, following the previous success of the digital billboards mounted on their recycler fleet.

Real time customer messaging can be uploaded remotely using WiFi to keep customers informed whilst the team are on site and also travelling around our client’s areas.

Following the successful £1m investment, Sapphire Utility Solutions have now launched a Civils Resolution Vehicle, which contains state of the art equipment to undertake civil activities and the built-in digital customer information screens.

The introduction of this innovation communication channel has seen a significant drop in customer enquiries through this proactive customer communication and awareness.

The wider benefits of the new fleet include:

  • Reducing operational expenditure by improving cost efficiency – The light goods vehicle is a less expensive unit, reducing fuel costs by a factor of 3 compared to a HGV
  • Increased productivity -The new fleet is completing 60% more jobs than the cityflex/recycler operating approach
  • Minimise customer impact – By assigning a van compared to a HGV for 70-80% of deployments, there is a significantly reduced noise and visual footprints of blockage removal work. Each visit causes less disruption to local traffic flow or property access when sewer inspections and jetting are taking place
  • Reduced environmental impacts – Fuel consumption for resolution works will reduce by up to 50%
