SUS is looking for a Talent & Resourcing Manager based in Bamber Bridge, Preston. This is a new role and will be instrumental in setting our talent acquisition strategy and implementing the supporting candidate experience.

The successful candidate will identify and attract key people with the capability to create competitive advantage, and that we actively manage an appropriate balance of resource to meet changing needs, fulfilling the short- and long-term ambitions of the business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take overall accountability of the delivery of all resourcing requirements across the business ensuring an optimal approach to quality and cost
  • Align and design recruitment solutions to support business strategy
  • Responsible for the candidate journey including the creation of job adverts, screening response, conducting telephone interviews, organising selection processes through to offer stage
  • Deliver creative and innovative recruitment campaigns to attract quality candidates
  • Design and improvement of the recruitment processes
  • Provide professional support and advice on recruitment to all managers
  • Target and directly attract candidates through a variety of sources such as networking through professional and social media (LinkedIn, Facebook), headhunting, referrals, building future pipeline of talent
  • To deliver a best in class and consistent candidate experience to all our applicants internal and external
  • Produce and update effective policies and procedures and communicate them effectively to the business
  • Support the development of talent pipeline across all career structures and levels, including lateral hires
  • Support management and provide coaching and training on selection methods
  • Ensure the quality of hires is continuously improved; raising the capability and potential of those recruited to meet business and talent objectives
  • Statistical analysis of all recruitment activity and ROI data on media channels, to include production of regular MI reports


  • Proven experience as an internal recruiter, recruiter or similar role (within the Utilities/Construction sector desirable)
  • Experience of managing the recruitment process in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to demonstrate working and building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems and cv databases
  • Self-motivated with excellent organisational skills.
  • Using a wide range of sourcing methods such as utilising professional and social media sites, headhunting and general networking
  • Be able to demonstrate a professional approach and work on own initiative

This position would require travel throughout the North West and Midland to maintain relationships and assist with selection processes, where required.
