Assistant Cost Engineer – Quantity Surveyor

Sapphire Utility Solutions are looking for a team member to work on their new contract but out of a regional office.

The role exists to support to support contract administration and cost management of the multiple contracts within our Traffic Management Clients

This is to support the Delivery Teams for all the Contract Obligations and cost management. Working within an experienced Commercial function to deliver outstanding commercial services to the wider contract and client teams.

Key Accountabilities

· Timely collation and administration of contract and commercial paperwork.

· Supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyor and SUS Management Team, with deliver of regular reporting of Management Information.

Key Responsibilities

Specific tasks/duties

· Gathering, Collating and value works completed across multiple clients.

· Ensuring Goods and Services are Receipted.

· Gathering and collating Data Feedback / Measurement Track sheets from Supply Chain.

· Administrating the Subcontractor Payments process

· Ensuring Plant & Equipment Returns completed and returned to JV Head offices functions.

· Providing reporting support to the Commercial Manager

· Supporting the Administration and Notifications and Change Events and variations to works

· Submitting Applications for Payment to clients

· Distribution of Cost Reports to Project Management & Operation teams.

Person Person Specification / Required Competencies

Training & Qualifications – formal education, training or professional membership

· HNC / Degree in a Construction / Quantity Surveying discipline (Working towards qualifications is acceptable) or working towards Accountancy qualifications with ani interest in Construction / Civil Engineer.

· Microsoft Word and Excel Skills

· Numerate and able to work with figures

Knowledge & Experience – Type and level required, usually gained on the job

· Experience in working within a busy office environment.

· Business Administration.

· Utilities / Construction Experience (Preferred)

· Quantity Surveying / Accounting Background (Preferred)

· Basic understanding of commercial and contract function.

· Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Skills – Specific skills required for the job (managerial, technical, IT, languages etc.

· Methodologic and accurate with an attention to detail.

· Computer literate with experience in using MS Excel, MS Word, Email and Accounting systems.

· Teamwork, able to collaborate with others.

· Able to communicate clearly with external partners, Client Reps, Supply Chain and Highway Authorities

The role is working a few days a week in the office and two days could be worked from home

Hours of work 8 – 4.30 with 30 minute lunch

23 days holidays per year plus bank holidays

Pension Scheme

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
